- Vanderbilt is making its 13th NCAA appearance, including its ninth straight under coach Tim Corbin’s direction.
- Oregon is making its eighth NCAA Tournament appearance, including third straight.
- Clemson is making its 39th NCAA appearance – fifth-most all-time. The Tigers have been in the tournament 27 of the last 28 seasons.
- Xavier is making the second appearance in program history. The other time was in 2009 as the Atlantic 10 Conference champion.
The West Coast Conference regular season title was up for grabs on the final day of regular season play and so were the final two spots in next week’s WCC Tournament. Who would travel to Stockton wouldn’t be determined until a walk-off victory settled it. But was it the San Diego Toreros, sitting at home watching the final games unfold on their computers, or one of the teams in action when it was all settled?

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State coach Pat Casey said on Friday that the key to beating arch rival Oregon was beating the Ducks’ pitching.
On Saturday night, Casey and the Beavers needed eight innings to prove him correct, again. OSU broke through for four hits and four runs in the bottom of the eighth to wrap up the Pac-12 series win and gain a percentage-points lead over Washington in the race for the conference title.
