Sacred Heart releases 2013 Schedules

(Fairfield, CT) – The Sacred Heart Baseball team has announced its 2013 season schedule.

The two-time defending Northeast Conference champions begin their quest for a third straight down in the bayous of Louisiana. The Pioneers open at Louisiana-Lafayette for a three-game series March 1-3, move on to Baton Rouge for a doubleheader with Stephan F. Monmouth Baseball Announces Coaching Changes

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth University head baseball coach Dean Ehehalt has announced changes to his coaching staff for the 2012 season. Jimmy Belanger, who has been the pitching coach for the past two years, has added the role of recruiting coordinator, while Rick Oliveri joins the staff as an assistant coach. Mariano Rivera Jr. commits to Quinnipiac

Mariano Rivera Jr. will be attending Quinnipiac University in Hamden CT to continue his education. According to The Quinnipiac Chronicle, he will attempt to walk on the Bobcats baseball program in the fall as a pitcher. Several scouts in the Northeast region have stated to myself that Rivera is far from an elite prospect on the mound and didn’t play high school baseball as a sophomore or junior.  Read the rest of this entry »

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Redshirt freshman David Trexler earned his first career victory as No. 7 Florida State rolled past Valdosta State, 10-2 at Dick Howser Stadium.

In a pre-arranged controlled start, Trexler (1-0) tossed three innings of shutout baseball, surrendering only a pair of infield singles. The lanky right-hander established a new career high with four strikeouts in his second start and fifth appearance. He did not issue a walk. Read the rest of this entry »

Sophomore Brian Johnson (Cocoa Beach, Fla.) threw five scoreless innings and No. 1 Florida (8-1) raced out to an 8-0 lead through four innings on its way to an 8-3 victory over No. 24 Miami (4-5) on Friday night in front of 4,587 fans at McKethan Stadium. 2011 Preseason NEC Coaches Poll

Somerset, NJ – Central Connecticut was the last Northeast Conference baseball team to do it seven seasons ago and Charlie Hickey’s club will attempt to achieve the feat again in 2011. Rivera visits Quinnipiac

Mariano Rivera Jr. was on the Quinnipiac campus on Wednesday afternoon with his father and NY Yankees closer Mariano Rivera to take of the tour of the Hamden CT school. Rivera Jr. is a right-handed pitcher out Iona Prep in New York. The 5’10 155 pounder played this past summer in the Bayside Yankees AAU program and contacted the Quinnipiac program on.
