College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2011 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the countdown today at number 29 with Kansas State junior CF Nick Martini. The Crystal Lake, Illinois, native attended Prarie Ridge High School where he was a three year letter winner and three time Illinois All-State selection. While in high school, he was a career .474 hitter, with 55 doubles, 6 triples, 14 HR and 101 RBI. As a senior, he was rated the top hitter in Illinois by Prep Baseball Report, and led his team to the 2008 Illinois State title. Martini was not drafted out of high school.

Here are the Top Performers in the Cape Cod Baseball League for July 25th. There was only three games played including one doubleheader between Orleans and Falmouth. The other three games on the evening that were rained out will be made up in the near future.
CARY, N.C. — Matt Jensen’s (Cal Poly) grand slam in the top of the sixth inning lifted the Red team to a 5-3 win over the Blue squad in Game 6 of the Collegiate National Team (CNT) Trials Sunday afternoon at the National Training Complex (NTC). With the win Red improved to 3-1-2, while Blue dropped to 2-1-3.

CARY, N.C. — Kyle Winkler (Texas Christian), Madison Boer (Oregon) and Nick Ramirez (Cal State Fullerton) combined to throw a one-hitter as the Red team took Game 4 of the Collegiate National Team (CNT) Trials in easy fashion Friday night 7-1 at the National Training Complex (NTC).
With the win the Red team improves to 2-1-1, while the Blue team drops to 1-1-2.
The Red trio of hurlers fanned seven batters while walking just two during the 7 1/2 inning affair. Winkler picked up the win after tossing three perfect innings with three punch outs, while Boer fanned three over two innings of hitless work.

CARY, N.C. — Sophomore’s Jackie Bradley, Jr. (South Carolina) and Drew Maggi (Arizona State) combined for six of the Blue squads 10 hits in the second game of the Collegiate National Team (CNT) Trials at the National Training Complex (NTC). The nine-inning affair ended in a five-all tie when Peter O’Brien (Bethune-Cookman) singled home a pair of runs in the eighth frame.
Trailing 5-3 with one out in the eighth Maggi drew a walk, which was followed by a single off the bat of Bradley, Jr. Both runners advanced on a strikeout and trotted home on O’Brien’s lone hit of the evening back up the middle.
