Cincinnati relieves Brian Cleary as Head Coach

BrianClearyCincy_thumb.jpgCINCINNATI – Brian Cleary has been relieved of his duties as the head baseball coach at the University of Cincinnati, director of athletics Whit Babcock announced Thursday. A national search for a successor will begin immediately.

Cleary will coach the team this weekend as the Bearcats close out the 2013 season against Notre Dame at Marge Schott Stadium. Continue reading

Southeast Missouri State names Steve Bieser as Head Coach

SEMissouriState_thumb.jpgCAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. –Director of Athletics Mark Alnutt named Steve Bieser the head baseball coach at Southeast Missouri State University on Wednesday. Bieser served as the Redhawks interim head coach since July 30, 2012.

Bieser, the fifth head coach in the program’s history, guided Southeast to its league record 19th-consecutive Ohio Valley Conference Tournament berth this season. The Redhawks enter next week’s OVC Tournament as the No. 6 seed. Continue reading

Iowa names Jim Brownlee as Interim Pitching Coach

IOWA_thumb.jpgIOWA CITY, Iowa — Former 30-year head baseball coach Jim Brownlee has been named the interim pitching coach for the University of Iowa baseball program, head coach Jack Dahm announced Friday.

“I am very excited to have Jim as a part of our staff,” said Dahm. “He is a guy that has 30 years of head coaching experience, so not only is he going to be a positive for us with our pitching staff, but for our program overall. Continue reading

St. John’s set to name Corey Muscara as Assistant Coach

St. John’s will name Corey Muscara as pitching coach according to CBD sources close to the situation. Muscara served as an assistant coach last season at Southern New Hampshire where he helped lead the Penmen to a 43-15 overall record and 12-9 in the Northeast-10 conference. He spent the 2010-2011 season at Binghamton under Tim Sinicki after spending the previous two seasons with Southern New Hampshire. More information will be available soon.

Austin Morgan added to East Carolina Coaching Staff

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Austin Morgan has been named the volunteer assistant baseball coach at East Carolina University according to an announcement from head coach Billy Godwin Wednesday afternoon.

Morgan, who will work directly with the catchers and assist Ben Sanderson as a hitting instructor, was a two-year letterwinner at College of Charleston and helped the Cougars to 74 wins and a pair of Southern Conference Tournament appearances from 2008-09. Continue reading
