Memphis releases 2015 Schedule

DaronSchoenrockMemphisMEMPHIS, Tenn. – Highlighted by 28 games at FedExPark, head coach Daron Schoenrock released the 2015 University of Memphis baseball schedule on Wednesday.

The Tigers open the season on February 13 at Oral Roberts, the first time the UofM opens on the road since 2007. Memphis gets an early road test as their first six scheduled games are away from FedExPark. Continue reading

LouisvilleFeaturedImagePROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Louisville Cardinals enter the season as the unanimous 2014 Preseason American Athletic Conference favorite after advancing to the College World Series for the second time in school history last season. Louisville received eight first-place votes and 64 points in the coaches’ preseason poll. Three teams tied for second place, as UCF, UConn and Houston all received 47 points. Continue reading

Memphis releases 2014 Schedule

“One of the things we’ve always been able to do is put together a very attractive home and road schedule that enhances three things,” head coach Daron Schoenrock said. “We want to showcase our city with the baseball history that we have here and we want to showcase our facility with the upgrades that have been done. We want to enhance our players chances of being seen in player development on a professional level. 2013 Conference USA Preseason Coaches Poll and Teams

ConferenceUSALogoConference USA announced its 2013 preseason baseball awards, as chosen by the league’s nine head coaches. Rice senior infielder Christian Stringer was chosen as the preseason Player of the Year, while Owls junior right-hander Austin Kubitza was named the preseason Pitcher of the Year. Rice was chosen to win the league’s championship. The Owls have won either the regular season or tournament championship in each of its seven years as a member of C-USA. Continue reading

Memphis releases 2013 Schedule

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis baseball team has announced its schedule for the 2013 season featuring 25 games against 2012 NCAA Tournament teams as well as 35 home games at FedExPark.

“We have put together a tremendously challenging schedule, something I promise in the recruiting process,” head coach Daron Schoenrock said. “This is by far the most home games we’ve had since moving into FedExPark in 2010.” Continue reading

NCBWA National Players of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA)­ released its National Player of the Week awards for the period ending April 8, today. Clemson junior infielder Richie Shaffer was named National Hitter of the Week, while Memphis sophomore left-hander Sam Moll named National Pitcher of the Week. The NCBWA Board reviews candidates from each Division I Conference each week and names winners each Tuesday throughout the season. Continue reading
