The only active Golden Griffin in Major League Baseball, Canisius athletics announces that John Axford MS’13 has made the largest donation in the history of the school’s baseball program. Axford’s gift will be used to directly improve the Canisius baseball program through the Blue and Gold Fund. Axford’s gift also will be recognized with a display in the centerfield bullpen at the Demske Sports Complex.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Head Coach Bill Currier has announced the 2015 baseball schedule. The Stags’ slate will feature non-league opponents from the ACC, American Athletic Conference, Big East, the CAA, and the A-10. Fairfield will also host four Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) series at Alumni Diamond.
“We had tremendous success last season and we want to carry that momentum into this year,” Currier said. “We have some very tough non-league opponents to start the year, but that experience will help us as we make a run towards a return trip to the MAAC Tournament.” Continue reading
RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The 2015 Manhattan College baseball schedule features 55 games, including 16 at Dutchess Stadium, the new competitive home of the Jaspers.
Manhattan begins the 2015 season in the Lone Star State on February 20 with a four-game set at Lamar in Beaumont, Texas. Its second weekend series of the season comes in Miami against Florida International, beginning on February 27. Continue reading

FORT WORTH — Sam Houston State staved off elimination with a 9-2 win over Siena to reach a second NCAA Regional final in the last three seasons. Vincent Citro drove home the game-winning run with two outs in the bottom of the 10th setting off a celebration 45 years in the making. Siena rallied from an early 7-0 deficit to shock #28 Dallas Baptist and the rest of the College Baseball World with a wild 9-8 victory Saturday at Lupton Stadium in Fort Worth, the program’s first in NCAA Tournament play.
