LAFAYETTE, La. – Junior Jace Conrad had a career-best six RBI as the top-ranked Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team defeated Jackson State 11-1 on Sunday afternoon to advance to the Lafayette Regional championship game at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field.
The Cajuns (55-8) will face Mississippi State in the championship game at 8 p.m. Louisiana needs to defeat the Bulldogs twice to advance to the Super Regionals, while Mississippi State needs to win just one game.

LAFAYETTE, La. – The top-ranked Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team bounced back from a tough loss yesterday to roll to 9-2 win over San Diego State in an elimination game on Saturday at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field in the Lafayette Regional.

Nathan Kirby tosses No-Hitter as Virginia defeats Pitt 4-0
PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Nathan Kirby (So., Midlothian, Va.) threw a no-hitter in the No. 1-ranked Virginia baseball team’s 4-0 victory at Pittsburgh Friday evening at Charles Cost Field. Kirby struck out 18 batters, one off the school and ACC single-game record, in UVa’s first no-hitter since 2011. College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2014 College Baseball season by checking in on the top 100 players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today at number 78 with Louisiana-Lafayette shortstop Blake Trahan. In his freshman campaign with the Ragin’ Cajuns, Trahan was the only freshman in the Cajuns lineup during the 2013 season and quickly showed signs of a top performer. In 213 at bats the shortstop compiled 68 hits, 38 RBI and hit to a .319 avg. The Kinder, La., native started 62 of the Cajuns’ 63 games at shortstop and hit safely in 48 of 62 games. After being named to the 2013 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America team, Trahan was then also named the Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year.
