LOS ANGELES — Floyd “Granpappy” Given had a three-run double and a solo home run to lead the Pepperdine Waves to an important 6-3 West Coast Conference win over Loyola Marymount Friday afternoon at Page Stadium.
Given’s four RBI gave Pepperdine (31-19, 13-6) starting pitcher Jon Moscot all the support he needed. Moscot pitched 6 2/3 innings allowing three earned runs on seven hits and three walks. Eric Karch finished off the gave, pitching 2 1/3 scoreless innings allowing only two hits while striking out one. He earned his first save of the game.

MALIBU, Calif. — Jon Moscot was in control the whole way. The right-handed junior pitched a complete game gem for Pepperdine and the Waves (9-4) took the series opener 2-1 against Rhode Island Friday afternoon at Eddy D. Field Stadium.
Moscot mowed through the URI (4-6) lineup with nine strikeouts. He allowed only one unearned run on five hits and one walk. The 6-foot-4, 200 pounder said his ability to get his breaking ball over for a strike enabled him to mix his pitches better and keep Rhode Island’s hitters off balance. Continue reading
MALIBU, Calif. — Jon Moscot was brilliant as he twirled a five-hit complete game in Pepperdine’s 2-1 win Friday afternoon at Eddy D. Field Stadium.
Moscot shut down the Rhode Island offense, allowing only an unearned run in the third inning. He was able to mix his pitches well and maintained the same velocity throughout the game from the first inning to the ninth inning. Continue reading
