A new era begins this year in Chestnut Hill with Mike Gambino taking over the Boston College program after Mik Aoki departed for Notre Dame. The 2000 BC graduate enters his first season as head coach of the Eagles after spending the last four years as an assistant coach on the Virginia Tech coaching staff. Yarmouth-Dennis evens Cape League Championship Series with 2-1 win

COTUIT —- The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox took a 2-1 victory from the Cotuit Kettleers on Thursday in Game 2 of the Cape Cod Baseball League Championship Series to stay alive for another day.

“We didn’t know what would happen,” Y-D field manager Scott Pickler said. “That was our goal, just to score the first run. That’s a very good team in the other dugout.”
