FULLERTON, Calif. — Jason Monda is supposed to be one of the run producers in the middle of Washington State’s lineup after the senior led the team with 40 RBI last season. Against No. 1 Cal State Fullerton, Monda had started the season 0-for-8.

In 2011, Washington State was coming off back to back Regional Final appearances and entering the season with a preseason national ranking – but the resulting season went differently than they planned. Heading the list of positional players is CCBL Most Valuable Player Travis Jankowski (Stony Brook) of Bourne, who hit .329 with 22 RBIs for the Bourne Braves, along with batting champion Stephen Piscotty (Stanford) of Yarmouth-Dennis, who hit .349, edging out fellow All-League catcher Dane Phillips (Oklahoma State) of Chatham by a mere .0002.
