2013 MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll

MAACLOGOEdison, N.J. - Manhattan College has been chosen as the favorite to win the 2013 MAAC Baseball title, according to a preseason poll voted on by the league’s nine head coaches.

A close vote had Manhattan top the poll with 74 points followed by Canisius College with 72. Rider University was picked third with 59 points, while Marist College was fourth with 57. Fairfield University finished with 48 points, followed by Siena College (31), Niagara University (29), Saint Peter’s University (18), and Iona College (17). Continue reading

Edison, N.J. – Canisius College has been chosen as the favorite to win the 2012 MAAC Baseball Championship, according to a preseason poll voted on by the league’s nine head coaches.

An extremely close vote saw Canisius top the poll with 61 points followed by Rider University with 60. Manhattan College was picked third with 59 points, while Iona College was fourth with 56. Marist College finished with 53 points, followed by Siena College (43), Fairfield University (42), Saint Peter’s College (16), and Niagara University (15). Continue reading

2011 MAAC Preseason Baseball Poll

Edison, N.J. – Rider University has been chosen as the favorite to win the 2011 MAAC Baseball Championship, according to a preseason poll voted on by the league’s head coaches.

Rider, the defending MAAC Champion, finished with 73 points in the poll, while Marist College finished second (67).  Canisius College placed third with 65 points.  Manhattan College placed fourth (56), followed by Siena College (51), Niagara University (28), Fairfield University (27), Saint Peter’s College (20), and Iona College (18). 2011 CBD Season Preview: MAAC

The MAAC conference in 2010 was won by Canisius in the regular season with a 19-5 conference record. Marist came in second with a 16-8 record while Rider and Manhattan tied for third place with 15-7 records. Siena and Niagara tied for fifth place with 13-11 records. Fairfield finished in seventh with a 8-16 record while St. Peter’s finished in eighth with a 6-18 record and Iona finished last with a 3-21 conference mark.

Iona Walks for Charity

IonaCharityWalkFifteen members of the Iona College baseball team attended the annual Diabetes Walk at White Plains High School on October 17, 2010. The walk consisted of teams who supported a friend or family and they competed in a friendly competition to raise money for the American Diabetes Association. The event also had games for children to play and free food available that met the needs of those with Diabetes. The Gaels participated in the walk and once over, helped clean up tables, tents, and garbage.

MAACBaseball Edison, N.J. – Manhattan College has been chosen as the favorite to take the 2010 MAAC Baseball title, according to a preseason poll voted on by the league’s head coaches.

Manhattan finished with 79 points in the poll, while Marist College finished second (71).  Canisius College placed third with 65 points.  Rider University placed fourth (43), followed by Siena College (42), Fairfield University (40), Niagara University (29), Saint Peter’s College (20), and Iona College (16).

The Warning Track with Brian Foley checks in today with some of the best action from Friday night.

The first story of the night was Kent State’s Brad Stillings (TCBB 40th Best Player) twirling a nine inning no-hitter against Toledo as the Golden Flashes picked up a 1-0 victory over MAC rival Toledo. Stillings went nine innings without walking anyone and only a second inning error kept him from getting a perfect game. Seton Hall to host Strike Out Cancer Tournament

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. — On Friday, March 13 through Sunday, March 15, the Seton Hall Pirates baseball team will host the first annual Rawlings Strike Out Cancer Tournament as they welcome NJIT, Iona, and Northeastern to Owen T. Carroll Field on the campus of Seton Hall University. As the sponsor, Rawlings will be donating t-shirts to the four teams, as well as selling them to fans in attendance. Continue reading

Edison, N.J. – Canisius College is the team to beat in the 2009 MAAC baseball season, according to a preseason poll voted on by the league’s head coaches.

Canisius finished with 81 points in the poll, while Rider University finished second (66). Manhattan College placed third with 58 points. Marist College and Siena College tied for fourth place (53), followed by Fairfield University (30), Niagara University (29), Saint Peter’s College (19), and Iona College (12). Continue reading
