HOUSTON, Texas – On Friday afternoon at Husky Field, the HBU Huskies won a pair of games against Northern Colorado by scores of 5-2 and 9-4 to give them their first three-game winning streak of the season.
DALLAS, Texas – In a game that had six lead changes, a six-run seventh put the game out of reach for HBU as the Huskies suffered a 14-8 loss to Dallas Baptist to end a three-game series at Patriot Field on Saturday afternoon.
In the top of the first, freshman Travis Fuquay drew a leadoff walk and then stole second with one out. Then, with two outs, Andrew Taccolini singled in Fuquay followed by a single off the bat of Johnathon Moore. Taccolini also scored in the inning thanks to a wild pitch to make it a 2-0 Husky lead. In the bottom of the inning, DBU took advantage of a hit batter and an error to push across one run.

DALLAS, Texas – The HBU Huskies fell behind early and never caught up as they lost 12-2 to the Patriots of Dallas Baptist on Friday evening at Patriot Field on the campus of DBU.
#9 LSU 2 Northwestern State 1
Sophomore Micah Gibbs drove in the game-winning run on a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lead No. 5 LSU past Northwestern State, 2-1, Tuesday in Alex Box Stadium.
Coming in to pinch hit for first baseman Buzzy Haydel with one out and the bases loaded, Gibbs drilled a 2-2 offering into the gap in right center field to break open a 1-1 tie and bring senior Derek Helenihi home for the victory.

HBU picks up its first win of the season to move to 1-13 on the year while TSU falls to 7-7.
HOUSTON – On a soggy day at Husky Field, the HBU Huskies defeated Texas Southern, 5-2, in a game shortened to five innings as a result of rain.
The game remained scoreless through three innings as neither team managed a hit before the fourth. In the top of the fourth, TSU got a leadoff walk followed by a double play. With two outs, the Tigers got two consecutive singles and a double to make it a 2-0 ballgame.
#1 Oklahoma City lost their first game of the Season on March 2, but it took 13 innings to do it. The loss was 4-3 to Iowa Wesleyan, who is 9-6. Starter Jorge Martinez pitched ten innings for Iowa Wesleyan, allowed 13 hits, but only three runs. Hector Acevedo held the Stars to two hits over the remaining three innings. Edwin Jimenez hit a sacrifice fly to bring in the winning run.
The Stars are now 18-1. They play a Rogers State team that is 10-6 away-and-home March 5 and 7.
#2 Lee is 18-1, but they trailed going into the bottom of the ninth at Tennessee Temple on March 3. The Flames ended up winning 10-6 in ten innings. Elvis Sosa is hitting .508 with eight home runs for the Flames. Matthew Gilson is 3-0, 0.46 ERA. Next up for the Flames is Emmanuel March 6-7. The Texas State baseball team held a 9-1 lead over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with Kane Holbrooks on the mound, but costly relief in the final frame nearly saw the win disappear, but the Bobcats managed to hold off the charge for a 9-6 win at Whataburger Field Saturday afternoon.
Texas State improves to 5-2 on the season and 2-0 in league action, while A&M-Corpus Christi falls to 1-6 and 0-2, respectively.
Centenary 8, (#1) Texas A&M 4
Centenary overcame a three home run effort by the Texas A&M offense and scored three runs in the eighth inning to hand the top-ranked Aggies their first loss of the year, 8-4, Wednesday afternoon before 2,979 fans at Olsen Field.
A&M (5-1) trailed by three entering the sixth before a solo shot by Luke Anders and a two-run home run by Dylan Petrich one inning later would tie the game at four.

The Texas State Bobcat baseball team scored a run in the bottom of the sixth, seventh and eighth inning to overcome a 2-0 Arkansas State lead and took a 3-2 victory from the Red Wolves Sunday afternoon at the UT Arlington/Hilton Invitational.
Gabriel Garcia-Serrano delivered a 2-RBI double in his first at bat of the 2009 season.
Late Rally Gets Delta Devils Past Stephen F Austin In Season Opener
The Lumberjack baseball team kept the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils at bay for the majority of the afternoon, but MVSU was able to scrape across a run in the bottom of the ninth to pick up a season-opening 4-3 win over SFA at the rain-soaked ULM Warhawk Classic.
