Butler releases 2013 Schedule

INDIANAPOLIS – A new conference schedule and two games at 2012 College World Series Champ Arizona highlight the 2013 Butler baseball schedule. Cape Cod Baseball League Players of the Week (July 4th)

Left-handed batter Drew Dosch (Youngstown State) of the Falmouth Commodores made some key hits that earned him a current batting average of .368 and Coca Cola’s Player of the Week. In last Wednesday’s game against Cotuit, Dosch hit a two-out double in the seventh inning that helped earn the Commodores a 9-2 victory over the Kettleers. Wright State Looking to Win Horizon League Again

The Wright State Raiders have won two out of the last three Horizon League tournaments winning the conference tournament in 2011 and 2009. The Raiders went a competitive 36-19 while going 16-7 in Horizon League play. In the conference tournament, they went a perfect 3-0 with a victory over Youngstown State before beating Valparaiso twice to make it to the NCAA Tournament. NCBWA Names 2012 Preseason Stopper of the Year Watch List

(NCBWA) — Forty-five players have been named to the initial watch list for the eighth annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award, given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I baseball, as announced by the association Wednesday.
