Game 2 of the series (first game on Saturday) saw Holy Cross send Matt Shapiro to the mound with a 4-3 record and a 5.33 ERA while Bucknell countered with Trey Frehler who was 4-6 with a 6.82 ERA.

The Holy Cross Crusaders took the first game of the Patriot League Championship Series over Bucknell in exhilarating fashion with a walk off double by Steve Tkowski as the Crusaders got an 8-7 victory.
The game remained scoreless until the third inning when the Crusaders would scratch across a run. Alex Maldonado would lead the inning off with a single through the left side. He would steal second base on the first pitch to Jack Laurendeau and move over to third on a fly out by Laurendeau to center field. After a John Sills walk, Maldonado would score on a Matt Perry single through the right side to put the Crusaders up 1-0. The Bison were able to get out of the inning without giving up any more damage.

The Patriot League Championship will be held on Friday and Saturday in Worcester Massachusetts between the Holy Cross Crusaders and the Bucknell Bison. The Crusaders enter the weekend with a 25-24 overall record after taking the first and last games of their three game Patriot League Semifinal series against Lehigh. Bucknell enters with a 21-31 overall record after they took Game 1 and Game 3 of their Patriot League Semifinal against Army. The Crusaders and Bison last met for a four-game series held in Lewisburg, Pa. on April 10-11. Holy Cross took three out of the four games, outscoring Bucknell 32-12.
We are heading into the last weekend of conference play for most teams across the country except for the West Coast schools who do not have postseason conference tournament. Here are ten series to watch this upcoming weekend.

Center Valley, Pa. – Bucknell and Holy Cross grabbed the last two spots in the Patriot League Baseball Tournament, but they made the most of those positions by taking out the top two seeds in the finales of best-of-three semifinal series on Sunday. No. 4 Bucknell won at No. 1 Army, 11-7, while No. 3 Holy Cross shutout No. 2 Lehigh, 3-0, to complete series victories on the road.
The Bison and Crusaders will now meet in a three-game Patriot League Championship series played in Worcester. The game dates will be announced on Monday, but the series will shift from the original Saturday-Sunday schedule because of Bucknell’s commencement on Sunday morning.
