Holy Cross releases 2012 Schedule

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross baseball team has released its 2012 schedule, announced by athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and head coach Greg DiCenzo. 2011 All-Patriot League Teams and Major Awards Announced

Center Valley, Pa. – Lafayette senior catcher A.J. Miller and Bucknell junior starting pitcher Ryan Ebner had never received an All-Patriot League selection coming into the season, but each student-athlete stood out during the 2011 campaign to take home the Patriot League Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Year honors, respectively, as the sport’s major awards and All-Patriot League teams were announced on Tuesday. I was able to catch up to Holy Cross head coach Greg DiCenzo after his Crusaders swept a doubleheader from Bucknell on Sunday afternoon. The Crusaders ended up taking three out of four games in the series behind the strong hitting of Stephen Wadsworth and Jack Laurendeau. 2011 Patriot League Preseason Coaches Poll

Center Valley, Pa. – Army finished in first place in the Patriot League Baseball standings by four games in 2010, while Bucknell came through in the League Tournament to win its second crown in the past three seasons. Patriot League coaches and sports information directors predicted success for each team again in 2011 as the Black Knights edged out the Bison for first place in the League’s preseason poll, it was announced on Wednesday. DiCenzo looking to lead Holy Cross back to NCAA Tourney

Holy Cross was one win away from their first NCAA Regional appearance since 1978, but after winning the first game of the Patriot League Championship series, the Crusaders dropped their next two to Bucknell.
