MORGANTOWN, W.Va – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its National Player of the Week awards for the period ending February 17 today. Troy junior outfielder Danny Collins was named National Hitter of the Week, while Georgia Tech senior right-handed pitcher Buck Farmer was named National Pitcher of the Week. CBD Contributor and GT play by play man Nolan Alexander recently previewed the 2013 Yellow Jackets squad which is coming off a 38-26 campaign while going 12-18 in ACC play. The Yellow Jackets ended up getting hot at the right time by winning the 2012 ACC Baseball Tournament to receive the conference’s autobid to the NCAA tournament. GREENSBORO, N.C. – NC State has been selected as the 2013 Atlantic Coast Conference baseball preseason favorite in a vote of the league’s 12 head coaches.

The 6’3 Atlanta native was drafted by the Pirates in the fourth round of the 2012 first year player draft, making him one of the highest signed college juniors electing to return for their senior season. ATLANTA – Georgia Tech has announced that baseball assistant coach Tom Kinkelaar will not return for the 2013 season. Kinkelaar spent eight years with the Yellow Jackets’ program, including the last five as pitching coach.
