The Arkansas Razorbacks are predicted to win the 2013 Southeastern Conference baseball championship, as voted by the league’s 14 baseball coaches in the 22nd annual preseason SEC poll.
The Razorbacks, ranked No. 1 nationally in the preseason USA Today Coaches’ Poll, seek to capture their third SEC Championship and first since 2004. The South Carolina streak came to an end last season as the Arizona Wildcats overpowered Ray Tanner’s squad en route to a national championship, booting the SEC from the spotlight of college baseball. The University of Florida baseball program and sixth-year head coach Kevin O’Sullivan announced its 2013 schedule on Monday. The Gators’ 56-game schedule features 36 games within the friendly confines of McKethan Stadium at Perry Field, where the squad registered a 31-8 (.795) mark last season and is 155-34 (.820) during O’Sullivan’s tenure. SAN DIEGO — Ryan Boldt didn’t have much to say Sunday night when San Diego Padre great Trevor Hoffman presented him with the 2012 Perfect Game All-American Classic MVP Award. It didn’t matter; his play had already said plenty.
The lanky 6-foot-1 centerfielder from Red Wing, Minnesota finished 2-for-3 with a triple to help the West squad secure a come-from-behind 7-6 victory at Petco Park Sunday night.
Boldt showed off his wheels roaming the spacious Petco outfield and when he slid into third base (pictured above) with an easy triple on a smash down the left field line.
