I know we have all grown tired of the “Rain Delay Danceoff’s” since the original came out a few years ago between UConn and South Florida but it isn’t everyday that we get to see the current Heisman Trophy winner involved like Saturday night between Florida State and Notre Dame. If you follow us on twitter, you saw that there was a fight between the Florida Gators and the Florida State Seminoles which saw three players ejected from the game. Florida players Zack Powers and Danny Young were ejected while Florida State’s D.J. Stewart was also tossed. Each player faces an automatic one game suspension plus any supplementary discipline if they were considered to be fighting. Florida State pitcher and 2013 Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston had to be held back by police in the incident according to several sources at the game. To put it bluntly, the Boston College Eagles were out of their element in ACC conference play in 2013. The Eagles lost their first 20 conference games before surprisingly winning a home series with Miami to get off the schnide.

Today, we continue the countdown at number 32 with Florida State sophomore DJ Stewart. The multi-sport high school athlete at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida hit .424, driving in 29 runs while hitting nine home runs as a senior.He was very successful at winning state titles with five combined state championships in his career at Bolles (three in football and two in baseball). Today, we continue the countdown at number 38 with Florida State junior Luke Weaver from Deland, Florida. He checks in at a lanky 6’2 and 170 pounds. As a senior, he earned second team Rawlings All-America and first team All-State honors while being first team All-Area during his sophomore and junior seasons. He was drafted in the 19th round by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2011 MLB Draft but decided to go to Florida State. Continue reading

Winston is an accomplished baseball player in addition to his football skills as he appeared in 41 games (32 starts) with a .235 batting average while driving in nine runs.
