GREENVILLE, N.C. – Carolina was down to its final out Wednesday night against No. 29 East Carolina in Greenville, N.C. but staged a dramatic comeback in the top of the ninth inning to take a 5-4 win over the Pirates. Jesse Wierzbicki came through with the clutch hit driving in a pair of runs when he singled to left with two down in the ninth. ACC Weekend Preview (Feb. 18th-20th)

We start up the 2011 season today with all 12 ACC teams in action with most of the top teams facing weaker competition. The best two non-conference matchups this weekend is the Virginia Cavaliers taking part in the Auburn Tigers tourney while North Carolina heads to Southern California to take part in the USC Tournament while slipping in a game with Cal-State Fullerton on Saturday.
