ELON, N.C. – A home slate of 33 games, as well as contests with five 2014 NCAA postseason participants, awaits head coach Mike Kennedy’s Elon baseball squad in the 2015 season. The 56-game schedule will feature 24 league games in the Phoenix’s first year as a member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). The season begins with five straight home games starting on Friday, Feb. 13.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – 2013 regular-season Southern Conference champion Western Carolina has been picked to defend its crown in 2014 in balloting of the league’s media and 10 head coaches.
The Catamounts, who went 39-20 overall and 23-7 in the league last season, picked up seven first-place votes and 78 points from the coaches, who could not vote for their own teams. WCU edged The Citadel, which earned 75 points and the remaining three first-place votes in the coaches’ poll. Western Carolina earned 167 points and 13 first-place votes from the media. ELON, N.C. — Coming off of a season in which it won the Southern Conference Tournament and reached an NCAA Regional final, the Elon University baseball program has announced the 56-game schedule that the Phoenix will face this spring. The 2014 slate will include 33 dates at Latham Park, while the maroon and gold will play 10 games against teams that participated in the NCAA tournament a year ago. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — A three-run rally in the bottom of the eighth inning erased a 4-3 deficit as the Elon Phoenix eliminated the UNC Wilmington Seahawks from the Charlotteville Regional by a 6-4 score on Sunday afternoon.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia – Corey Dick and Matt Keeler collected three hits apiece and UNCW ended the game with a triple play as the Seahawks eliminated Army with a 9-5 win on Saturday at the NCAA Charlottesville Regional at Davenport Field.
