2015 American Athletic Conference Preseason Poll and Awards

AACLogoPROVIDENCE, R.I. – Houston was picked as the preseason favorite in the 2015 American Athletic Conference preseason baseball poll, as voted on by the conference’s eight head coaches. UCF, which received two first-place votes, ranked second, while conference newcomer East Carolina was selected as third. Cincinnati OF Ian Happ was voted the Preseason Player of the Year, while USF’s Jimmy Herget was tabbed as Preseason Pitcher of the Year. East Carolina releases 2015 Schedule

JeffHoffmanECUFeaturedGREENVILLE, N.C. – Thirty-four home games at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium, including the 12th-Annual Keith LeClair Classic, highlight the 2015 East Carolina baseball schedule announced Wednesday morning by first-year head coach Cliff Godwin.

ECU set to name Cliff Godwin as Head Coach

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Cliff Godwin, a four-year Pirate letterman who has been a part of seven NCAA Regional and two College World Series appearances coaching at the Division I level, has been appointed head baseball coach at East Carolina University according to an announcement from director of athletics Jeff Compher on Wednesday. 2013 Conference USA Preseason Coaches Poll and Teams

ConferenceUSALogoConference USA announced its 2013 preseason baseball awards, as chosen by the league’s nine head coaches. Rice senior infielder Christian Stringer was chosen as the preseason Player of the Year, while Owls junior right-hander Austin Kubitza was named the preseason Pitcher of the Year. Rice was chosen to win the league’s championship. The Owls have won either the regular season or tournament championship in each of its seven years as a member of C-USA.
