The Citadel’s sophomore RHP Michael Clevinger has been removed from the team’s roster after being listed early this weekend. According to sources, Clevinger has left the school. The sophomore righty was expected to be a key part of the Bulldogs pitching rotation as he made 16 appearances (15 starts) while going 5-3 with an ERA of 5.15 in 92.2 innings pitched. Ethan Carter will be transferring to Louisburg College to continue his career according to a report from The Daily Press.
The South Carolina Gamecocks are facing an uphill battle this year as they lost Blake Cooper and Sam Dyson from last year’s championship squad and received some bad news today. The Ole Miss Baseball program is going through a state of transition right now with the news that assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Rob Reinstetle has resigned to spend more time with his family. He is expected to be replaced volunteer coach Matt Mossberg who will move into the full-time assistant position and Director of Baseball Operations Rob Francis will move to the volunteer assistant position. Pitching Coach Carl Lafferty will move into the recruiting coordinator position. Coach Mike Bianco states the following "I am very excited about the future of our program and the opportunities this presents for both Matt Mossberg and Rob Francis, they are both great coaches and two guys who are very deserving of this opportunity." The other big news out of Oxford is that Zach Lowery and Evan Frazar have been dismissed from the program for a violation of team rules.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – University of Illinois head baseball coach Dan Hartleb announced Tuesday that junior left-handed pitcher Phil Haig has been dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules.
“We place great emphasis on conducting yourself in a way that represents our team and the university in a positive way and Phil did not fulfill his responsibilities,” Hartleb said. “We will move forward as a team in our preparation for the 2010 season.”
