2013 Los Angeles NCAA Regional Preview

Adam Plutko is experienced.Los Angeles will the site of one of the most intriguing regionals this season.  All four teams are within a couple hours drive, so they know each other, at least in passing, and their fans will have the opportunity to come out and show their support.

It also could be one of the most competitive regionals with light-hitting UCLA hosting and three lower-seeds that each have the talent to compete with the Bruins. But UCLA has the pedigree, having finished in the top three of the Pac-12 eight consecutive years. The Bruins also have the experience having advanced to the College World Series in two of the last three seasons. Continue reading

Southern California Week 4 Power Rankings

There were some major moves since the last power rankings, but not necessarily at the top. Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine both lost back-to-back games for the first time, but did they slide? And with four teams apparently fighting it out to show who can be worse in the recent week or so, who ultimately slides all the way to the bottom?

Number 93 on our Top 100 Countdown is UCLA’s David Berg. The 6’0 Covina, California native entered the program as a walk-on, only to become one of the most dynamic freshmen of 2012. Continue reading
