In back-to-back years, and for the fourth time in the past six years, the Rice Owls took home the Conference USA Tournament crown. The baseball powerhouse was also the regular season champion going 23-7 in conference play, finishing three games ahead of the second place finisher in the UAB Blazers.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Games against six NCAA Tournament teams, including a two-game series against 2014 College World Series participant Ole Miss, as well as a 31-game home slate, highlight the 2015 UAB baseball schedule, head coach Brian Shoop announced Thursday.

The Charlotte Observer is reporting that the Charlotte 49ers have dismissed five players from the baseball squad as the investigation into hazing continues. The players were not named but the 49ers have been removed from the Georgia Bulldogs schedule as it is unclear if the 49ers will have enough players when the season comes around. The 2015 Conference USA Baseball Championship will be held at Pete Taylor Park on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Miss. The eight-team tournament will be held May 20-24 and marks the second-straight season the championship will be played at Southern Miss and the fifth time in league history. The Charlotte Observer is reporting that the UNC Charlotte baseball program is currently “on hold” after an investigation into hazing was launched by the university. The investigation was launched by the UNC Charlotte Student Affairs Division under the direction of the Office of Legal Affairs in accordance with the university’s Code of Student Responsibility.

RUSTON, La. – With the 2015 baseball season less than three months away, Louisiana Tech head coach Greg Goff has announced the upcoming schedule, which is highlighted by 29 home games, including eight weekend series at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park in Ruston.
LA Tech is set to play a total of 55 games in 2015, including 14 three-game series, four of which will be non-conference matchups, and 13 midweek contests over the course of the campaign. The Bulldogs will also face off against four opponents that made the NCAA Tournament last season as Southeastern Louisiana, Arkansas, Rice and Old Dominion reached the postseason in 2014. CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte baseball will make at-least two pieces of program history hoping to add more as Head Coach Loren Hibbs announced the 2015 schedule on Wednesday morning. The slate calls for 56 games in all, a whopping 34 at home and 30 inside Conference USA. The one piece of history will be made on Tuesday, March 31st as the Niners will host N.C. State in Uptown Charlotte at the new BB&T Ballpark, home of the Charlotte Knights. The tilt, designated as a Niner “Green Out” with all fans encouraged to wear green that night, will be the first-ever collegiate game inside the newest minor league facility that recently hosted last year’s Triple-A National Championship game. A challenging slate of 54 regular season games, including 30 at Reckling Park and another two in the greater Houston area, highlight the 2015 Rice baseball schedule announced on Thursday (Oct. 17).
Rice starts the 2015 regular season at home on Feb. 13 against longtime rival Texas. The season-opening showdown with the Longhorns is the first of two sensational four-game series at Reckling Park where a Saturday double-header is scheduled between single games on Friday and Sunday.
