Greg Moore added to Washington Coaching Staff

GregMoore SEATTLE – Greg Moore has been added to the Washington baseball coaching staff, head coach Lindsay Meggs announced today. Moore, who will handle pitching for the Huskies, joins Meggs and Dave Nakama, who was named an assistant earlier this month, on the full-time coaching staff.`

Moore comes to the UW after eight seasons as an assistant at the University of San Francisco.

Hartford adds Jerry Shank to the Coaching Staff

Meiser and Head Baseball Coach Jeff Calcaterra announced the hiring of Jerry Shank as an assistant coach on Monday. Shank will serve as the Hawks’ pitching coach and recruiting coordinator.

Dan Burton added to Maryland Coaching Staff

DanBurtonAP COLLEGE PARK, Md. – University of Maryland baseball coach Erik Bakich announced today the hiring of Dan Burton as assistant coach, filling the need for a recruiting coordinator on Bakich’s first coaching staff at Maryland.

Burton comes to Maryland after spending one season as a volunteer assistant at Austin Peay, where he coached the outfielders, served as assistant hitting instructor, and ran the strength and conditioning program.

Toledo adds Matt Talarico to Coaching Staff

CoryMee TOLEDO, OH – Matt Talarico has been named volunteer assistant baseball coach at the University of Toledo, skipper Cory Mee announced today. Talarico will work with all aspects of the program, but his main responsibilites will be working with the outfielders and assisting with baserunning and bunting. He will also help coordinate Toledo’s growing offering of baseball camps.

"I’m very excited to have Matt join our program," Mee said. "He is a great addition to our staff. I know he’ll bring a lot of enthusiasm and positive energy to our team. He’s a very good teacher and he already has experience coaching in the post-season. I look forward to seeing the impact he has on our program as he begins to share his experience and knowledge with our players."

Mike Cole added to Maine Coaching Staff

MikeCole ORONO, Maine – University of Maine baseball coach Steve Trimper announced today that Mike Cole has been named an assistant coach of the Black Bears. Cole comes to Maine after spending the past season as an assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Vermont.

"Mike is a wonderful addition to our staff," said Trimper. "It’s great to be reunited with him once again. Known as a tireless recruiter and teacher, he will be a tremendous asset to our infielders and hitters."

Rhett Parrott Joins Duke Baseball Coaching Staff

DukeBaseballLogo DURHAM, N.C. – Rhett Parrott, a three-year letterwinner at Georgia Tech and pitcher in the St. Louis Cardinals organization, has joined the Duke baseball staff as a volunteer assistant coach, head coach Sean McNally announced.

A native of Tunnel Hill, Ga., Parrott will replace former Blue Devil outfielder and pitcher Jonathan Anderson, who served as Duke’s volunteer assistant coach from 2008-09 and recently accepted an assistant coach position at Dartmouth.

Chris Ramirez Promoted to Top Assistant on Texas A&M-CC Staff

Texas A&M Corpus Christi University head baseball coach Scott Malone has named Chris Ramirez as his top assistant.

“Chris has done an excellent job since he arrived here,” said Malone. “He has worked to gather a large pool of talent. I am extremely pleased with the work he has done to bring in local players. It was our goal when we came here to keep the top local talent in the Coastal Bend and he has been able to get players from Calallen, Carroll and Moody to join our club.”

Dave Nakama Named Assistant Baseball Coach at Washington

Nakama SEATTLE – New University of Washington baseball coach Linsday Meggs announced his first hiring today as Dave Nakama has been named his top assistant coach.

Nakama, who comes to Seattle from Pac-10 rival Stanford, will coordinate all the hitting, assist with team defense and oversee outfielders. He’ll begin working immediately. He and Coach Meggs crossed paths in the Northern California Division II ranks when they coached at San Francisco State and Chico State, respectively.
