Central Michigan releases 2013 Schedule

MOUNT PLEASANT – The Central Michigan baseball program released its 2013 schedule Wednesday afternoon, one that features 17 games at Theunissen Stadium.

Central Michigan extends Steve Jaksa through 2016 Season

MOUNT PLEASANT – The Central Michigan Athletics Department and head baseball coach Steve Jaksa have agreed to a new four-year contract that will run through the 2016 season.

NCBWA releases National Players of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its National Player of the Week awards for the period ending February 19, today. Central Michigan senior catcher William Arnold was named National Hitter of the Week, while Duke sophomore right-hander Robert Huber was named National Pitcher of the Week. 2012 MAC Preseason Coaches Poll Released

Cleveland, Ohio – Defending MAC Regular Season and Tournament Champion Kent State and defending MAC West Division Champion Central Michigan have been chosen by the league’s head coaches to win their respective divisions, released today by the league office. Top 100 Countdown: 53. Dietrich Enns (Central Michigan)

College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2012 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 53 with Central Michigan junior LHP Dietrich Enns. The Frankfort, Illinois native attended Lincoln Way East High School. He had an outstanding junior season going 7-3 with an ERA of 1.30 as he earned all-conference and all-area honors. He was even better as a sophomore with a 12-0 record with a 1.10 ERA. Cape League announces 2011 All-Star Team

CAPE COD, Mass. – Commissioner Paul Galop has announced the 2011 Cape Cod Baseball League All-League Team.

Heading the list of positional players is CCBL Most Valuable Player Travis Jankowski (Stony Brook) of Bourne, who hit .329 with 22 RBIs for the Bourne Braves, along with batting champion Stephen Piscotty (Stanford) of Yarmouth-Dennis, who hit .349, edging out fellow All-League catcher Dane Phillips (Oklahoma State) of Chatham by a mere .0002.
