HOUSTON, TEXAS – Overcoming a two hour and 43 minute lightening delay, the California baseball team continued its 2011 season with a 6-3 victory over No. 9-ranked Rice Sunday (June 5) in NCAA regional action at Rice’s Reckling Park. After scoring a run in the seventh inning on senior left fielder Austin Booker’s RBI single that tied the game, 3-3, the Golden Bears had to wait over two hours before scoring three runs in the bottom of the eight on three Owl errors and an RBI single by sophomore second baseman Tony Renda. Pac-10 Weekend Preview (April 1st-3rd)

Oregon has turned their season around, minus a couple one run losses in a 4-game set with Wichita State last weekend.  The overall sense of worry on the Duck program has dissipated after they reeled off eight straight wins, but have their first real test in a while as they fly to Tempe to take on Arizona State.   Continue reading


Cal Baseball Coming Back?

According to The Mercury News, the Cal baseball program is closing in on being reinstated by Athletic Director Sandy Barbour. Stu Gordon reportedly met with Cal chancellor Robert Birgeneau where he detailed nine million dollars of private pledges to restore the program. The school has said that the goal would be 10 million dollars so this is very encouraging news that they have nearly reached the number,
