2013 Chapel Hill NCAA Regional Preview

UNCFeaturedImageThe (1) North Carolina Tar Heels will host their double-elimination regional on Bryson Field at Boshamer Stadium starting on Friday, May 31st and ending on either June 2nd or June 3rd if necessary. Joining the Tar Heels will be (2) Florida Atlantic, (3) Towson, and (4) Canisius who will make for some formidable match-ups at Chapel Hill. The winner of this regional will play the winner of the Columbia (SC) regional hosted by (1) South Carolina with (2) Clemson, (3) Liberty, and (4) St. Louis. NCBWA Players of the Week (April 21)

NCBWA LogoMORGANTOWN, W.Va – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA)­ released its National Player of the Week awards for the period ending April 21, today. James Madison’s senior outfielder Colby Roberts was named National Hitter of the Week, while West Virginia sophomore left-handed pitcher Harrison Musgrave was named National Pitcher of the Week. 2013 NCAA Regional Projections (April 17th)

13regionalprojections_smAs we’re now well into the 2013 college baseball season, College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to Selection Monday with our latest 2013 Regional Projections.

For this week’s projections, instead of being solely compiled based on RPI like they have been done in past weeks, every aspect was taken into consideration. College Baseball Daily’s Ginger Poulson (@gingerpoulson) compiled this list after analyzing RPI, overall records, conference standings, overall talent and several other factors. 2013 CAA Preseason Coaches Poll

CAA LogoRICHMOND, Va. (January 23, 2013) – UNCW, which captured its third CAA baseball championship in the past nine years last season, has been picked to win the conference title again in 2013 according to a vote of the league’s head baseball coaches.

The Seahawks received five first-place votes and finished atop the poll with 75 points. Hofstra picked up three first-place votes and was second with 69 points. James Madison was chosen third with 62 points and Delaware got two first-place votes and was fourth with 57 points. Hofstra’s John Russo receives Contract Extension

Georgia State releases 2013 Schedule

ATLANTA – The Georgia State baseball team has released its 2013 schedule that includes five in-state opponents and features 27 games against Colonial Athletic Association foes.

The Panthers begin the 2013 campaign against Butler on February 15 at 4 p.m. at Panthersville. In all, GSU will play 30 games at home in 2013. Continue reading Georgia State releases 2013 Schedule
