Butler releases 2013 Schedule

Western Michigan: Brown 10 Gold 5

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Brown struck for three runs in the first inning and never looked back, clinching the annual Brown & Gold series with a 10-5 win in decisive Game 3. Purdue: Black 11 Gold 10

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - An early 8-0 lead helped the Black team withstand a valiant comeback effort and earn an 11-10 victory in game two of Purdue baseball’s Black & Gold Series Friday afternoon at Lambert Field.

Here are your Scrimmage Updates for September 22nd as North Carolina held a intrasquad scrimmage while Butler faced off with the Ontario Blue Jays.

UNC Scrimmage: Navy 5 Blue 5

Chapel Hill, N.C.- The Navy and Blue squads played for eight and a half innings on Thursday in a scrimmage that ended in a 5-5 tie. The scrimmage featured six extra base hits, including a Tom Zengel solo home run. Read the rest of this entry »

Butler Baseball Announces Coaching Changes

INDIANAPOLIS – Head coach Steve Farley and the Butler baseball program have announced coaching staff changes for the upcoming 2012 season. DJ Throneburg, who joined the staff this past season, will now serve as the program’s top assistant coach. Michael Dalton and Brian Hiscox have also been added to the staff. 2011 CBD Season Preview: Horizon League

Wright State won the 2010 Horizon League Regular Season title with a 17-6 overall record. Milwaukee finished in the runners-up position a game back with a 17-8 record while Illinois-Chicago finished third with a 15-9 record. Valparaiso came in fourth at 9-10 and Butler finished 11-13 for a fifth place finish. Youngstown State came in sixth with a 9-17 record and Cleveland State rounded out the conference with a 5-20 mark. Read the rest of this entry »

Offensive Explosion in Chicago as Flames Sweep Bulldogs

UIC Chicago, IL – Not exactly a pitching clinic at Les Miller Field on a very pleasant Saturday as the University of Illinois Chicago Flames hosted the Butler Bulldogs for a Horizon League doubleheader.  A combined 48 runs and 65 hits paired up with 6 errors made for an interesting 6:00 of baseball with UIC taking both games and sweeping the weekend series.  The ball was flying out of the park in the early game with a total of 11 home runs smacked as the Flames won 21-11.  In the second game doubles were more popular with a total of 13 hit in the UIC 12-4 win.

Butler, Youngstown State Set 2010 Slates

youngstown Head coach Steve Farley enters his 19th season with Butler baseball as the 2010 season approaches.  Coach Farley and the Bulldogs look to improve from a very disappointing 2009 campaign that saw the team finish with a 13-41 record.

The Bulldogs will kick off the season at the Wofford College Tournament (Feb. 26-28) with games against NJIT, Wofford, and South Carolina Upstate.  Butler then returns home for a mid-week game against Indiana Tech (March 3) before travelling to Winter Haven, Florida for their Florida Spring Trip (March 5-11).
