2011 Missouri Valley Conference Preseason Poll

ST. LOUIS – Illinois State, which returns a dominating young pitching staff and solid depth from last year’s State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship squad, has been tabbed as the league favorite in the annual coaches’ preseason poll, receiving four of eight first-place votes.

Bradley releases 2011 Schedule

PEORIA, Ill. – The 2011 college baseball season is just a month away and Bradley’s 111th season will include a 53-game regular-season slate with games to be played in seven states, according to the schedule announced today by third-year head coach Elvis Dominguez.

“This is the most challenging schedule we’ve had since I have been at Bradley and it certainly will be a great test for our team,” said Dominguez. “Schedules are prepared 2-to-3 years in advance and this one will test us early against good programs. We believe the early non-conference portion of the schedule will be of great benefit for our players and help prepare them for the very challenging Missouri Valley Conference race.” Continue reading Bradley releases 2011 Schedule

Bradley Baseball Player Phil Kaiser Dies Monday

According to the AP Report, Phil Kaiser had an undiagnosed heart condition which was discovered in his autopsy. You can check out the AP article by clicking here. The press release from Bradley University is below.

PEORIA, Ill. – Phil Kaiser (Berwyn, Ill./Nazareth Academy), a junior utility player for the Bradley University baseball team, died early Monday morning after being transported to Methodist Medical Center of Illinois.  The cause of death has not been determined. 2010 Missouri Valley Conference Preseason Poll

MVC ST. LOUIS – Wichita State, which returns a dominating young pitching staff and solid depth from last year’s Missouri Va lley Conference Tournament championship squad, has been tabbed as the league favorite in the annual coaches’ preseason poll, receiving seven of eight first-place votes.

The Shockers tallied 57 points and were a close favorite over second-place pick and 2009 regular-season champion Missouri State (52 points).  Creighton, who secured the remaining first-place vote and 50 points overall, was picked to finish in the third position.

PEORIA, Ill. - The Bradley Baseball program took advantage of the early signing period and will welcome seven new Braves to the squad in 2010-11. Of the seven new additions to the program, four are pitchers, three are junior college players and all seven hail from the Land of Lincoln.

Bradley adds Sean Lyons to Coaching Staff

SeanLyons PEORIA, Ill. – The Bradley Baseball program solidified its staff for the 2010 season by announcing former Eastern Illinois assistant coach Sean Lyons as the Braves newest addition. Lyons spent six seasons as the Panthers defense and infield coach, recruiting coordinator and also worked extensively with EIU’s hitters. In addition to his coaching experience, Lyons played for the Panthers from 1996-99.

2009 Missouri Valley Conference Preseason Poll and Teams

ST. LOUIS – Missouri State, which returns a dominating veteran pitching staff and solid depth from last year’s Missouri Valley Conference runner-up squad, has been tabbed as the league favorite in the annual coaches’ preseason poll, receiving eight of nine first place votes.

The Bears tallied 80 points and were a sound favorite over second-place pick Creighton (66 points). 2008 champion Wichita State, who secured the remaining first-place vote and 63 points overall, was picked to finish in the third position. 2009 College Baseball Schedules

We are now just little over two months away from opening day for Division I and for some Div II teams are a little over a month away. We are continuing to get 2009 College Baseball Schedules almost daily. Today, we have Bowling Green, Bradley, Bucknell, and Sacramento State. Continue to check back as we will have all Div I,II,III, and the NAIA schedules posted as soon as possible.
