Hawai’i releases 2015 Schedule

HawaiiBaseballHONOLULU – The University of Hawai’i Rainbow Warrior baseball team announced its 2015 schedule which includes eight teams from last year’s NCAA Tournament field and another daunting Big West Conference slate.

The ‘Bows will play 53 games, 30 in the friendly confines of Les Murakami Stadium where they ranked 18th in the nation in attendance last season and first in the west region. They kick off the campaign hosting national power Oregon for the fifth straight season, and will also welcome Oklahoma and 2014 NCAA regional participant Cal State Fullerton. Continue reading

Long Beach State releases 2015 Schedule

LBSUSchedulePic_thumb.jpgLONG BEACH, Calif. – Head coach Troy Buckley and the Long Beach State Dirtbags have put together another challenging schedule for the 2015 season. The Dirtbags 2015 slate features eight opponents who made the postseason in 2014 and two who made the Super Regionals.

Fresh off its first postseason appearance in six years, the Dirtbags will again face one of the toughest schedules in the country as they look to get back into the NCAA Tournament. The eight opponents who made the tournament in 2014 account for 22 games in the 55-game schedule and six of the eight opponents will be played in the nonconference portion of the schedule. Cal Poly targets Baggett Stadium for Renovations

The Tribune in San Luis Obispo, CA had an article last week that the Cal Poly administration has targeted the baseball program’s Baggett Stadium for the next series of renovations in the athletic department. Fullerton’s Phil Bickford leaves program

Rick-Vanderhook-is-not-happy-with-the-umpires-decision.-Photo-Shotgun-SpratlingAccording to a release from Cal State Fullerton baseball, RHP Phill Bickford has decided to leave the Titans program to continue his baseball career elsewhere. Bickford went 6-3 with a 2.13 ERA in 20 appearances including ten starts with Fullerton in the 2014 season. He spent the summer in the Cape Cod League with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox where he made 14 appearances (1 start) with a 1-1 record and an ERA of 2.25 while serving as the closer accumulating eight saves. UC-Irvine releases 2015 Schedule

IRVINE, Calif. — The UC Irvine Baseball team will renew old acquaintances and also faces a pair of first-time opponents in 2015.

Coming off an NCAA postseason run that culminated in a College World Series appearance, the Anteaters open the season as they did in 2014. UCI takes on Fresno State (Feb. 13-15) in the season opener for the second consecutive year but will travel to the Bulldogs’ home field. The weekend against Fresno State will be followed by a trip to California, where UCI will face the Golden Bears (Feb. 20-22) in four games which includes a double-header slated for Feb. 21.
