MORGANTOWN, W.Va – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its National Player of the Week awards for the period ending April 7, today. UNC Asheville senior catcher Ian Graham was named National Hitter of the Week, while Marshall junior right-handed pitcher Aaron Blair was named National Pitcher of the Week. 2013 Big South Preseason Conference Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Liberty’s and Coastal Carolina’s baseball programs have been chosen as the favorites in the Big South Conference’s annual preseason poll for the 2013 season in a vote of the League’s Head Coaches, the League announced today. In addition, the coaches voted Campbell’s Michael Felton and Jeff Kemp of Radford the Conference’s Preseason Co-Players of the Year, while Aaron Burke of Coastal Carolina was named the Big South Preseason Pitcher of the Year. Top 100 Countdown: 55. Jacob May (Coastal Carolina)
College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2013 college baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be adding players day-by-day until we get to number one!
Number 55 on our Top 100 Countdown is Coastal Carolina ’s Jacob May. The 5’10 outfielder/second baseman from Liberty Township, Ohio was a 39th-round draft pick by the Reds in 2010.
During his freshman season in 2011, May played in 44 games for Coastal Carolina starting 38, most of which were in left field. Throughout the season, May was batting .206 with six doubles and thirteen RBI in addition to going 5-5 in stolen base attempts. He also posted a fielding percentage of .969. In the summer of 2011, May played for the Green Bay Bullfrogs of the Northwoods League where he batted .296 with 12 doubles and 19 stolen bases.

Coastal Carolina releases 2013 Schedule

BOILING SPRINGS – Gardner-Webb announced its 2013 baseball schedule Tuesday, with 13 games on tap against teams that participated in last season’s NCAA Regionals.

Campbell announces plans for New Stadium
BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell University Athletics announced plans for its new baseball facility on Monday, Jim Perry Stadium.

Liberty releases 2013 Schedule
A three-game series against 2010 and 2011 NCAA Division I Champion South Carolina and 11 games against 2012 NCAA Regional qualifiers are part of a challenging 2013 schedule released by the Liberty baseball program, this afternoon.
