2013 CBD Season Preview: SEC West

SEC Circle Gold Letters on White BackgroundThe SEC’s reign atop college baseball came to an end in 2012, as South Carolina fell to the Arizona Wildcats in the championship series in Omaha. Still, though, the conference scored a big victory with the addition of Texas A&M, who provides immediate strength to the conference.

Last year we saw Arkansas rise to national contention as well as push the Gamecocks to the brink of College World Series elimination.  We saw Mississippi State conquer the conference to win a NCAA berth by virtue of winning it all in Hoover. Continue reading

Number 87 on our Top 100 Countdown is Auburn’s Ryan Tella. The 6’0 outfielder from Fremont, California was a 34th-round draft pick by the Twins in 2011 out of junior college at Ohlone College. Continue reading

SEC Fall Check-in: Auburn

The Auburn Tigers returned to the SEC tournament for the third straight season last year, but were quickly bounced after dropping two of their three games in Hoover to the Florida Gators and South Carolina Gamecocks. There’s certainly no shame in losing to two of the more successful programs in the country in recent history, but Auburn has set higher goals for themselves after their fourth consecutive winning season under coach John Pawlowski. Link Jarrett named Head Coach at UNC-Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Link Jarrett, a two-time Assistant Coach of the Year award winner and offensive mastermind, has been named the second coach in UNCG baseball history, Director of Athletics Kim Record announced Wednesday. Jarrett brings 13 years of coaching experience to the program, including stops at Flager, Mercer, Florida State, East Carolina and Auburn. Continue reading
