Cape Cod Baseball League Players of the Week (June 23rd)

With the Cape Cod Baseball League running just 10 weeks, each and every game is important for players to make their mark. The Hyannis Harbor Hawks’ Devin Smeltzer (Florida Gulf Coast) has capitalized on it, pitching a no-hitter against Harwich that put him on the radar and earned him Coca-Cola Pitcher of the Week honors. Smeltzer is 2-0 with a 1.22 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings.

A native of Voorhees, N.J., Smeltzer pitches for Florida Gulf Coast University. He is entering his junior year with solid stats following the 2015 season, racking up 41 strikeouts in 52 innings of work. Continue reading Cape Cod Baseball League Players of the Week (June 23rd)

Kennesaw State looking to make a run to Omaha

It took the Kennesaw State baseball program five years of Division I competition to reach last season’s peaks.

Stetson releases 2015 Schedule

When the Stetson University baseball team takes to the field at Melching Field in February, the Hatters will face a challenging slate that includes a pair of College World Series participants from 2014 as well as three other clubs that won in excess of 40 games last year.

Fortunately for the Hatters, many of those games in 2015 will take place on the home field, with 35 home games on the schedule for this spring. Continue reading Stetson releases 2015 Schedule

North Florida releases 2015 Schedule

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida baseball team will open up its 2015 season at Harmon Stadium on Friday, Feb. 13th against Virginia Military Institute as part of a three-game, season-opening series. The Ospreys unveiled the rest of their 2015 schedule that includes 31 home games.

The Ospreys go into their fifth season under the direction of Head Coach Smoke Laval who has compiled 120 wins and appeared in back-to-back Atlantic Sun Conference Tournaments. USC-Upstate releases 2015 Schedule

Jacksonville releases 2015 Schedule

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A full slate of 33 home games including visits from Florida State and VCU highlight the 2015 schedule for Jacksonville University baseball.

The Dolphins will begin the season Feb. 13 with a three game series against a Middle Tennessee State program that won 31 games last season. The annual match-up against Florida State follows on Tuesday, Feb. 17 as the Dolphins and Seminoles meet for the 161st time dating back to the 1960 season. Jacksonville will also travel to Tallahassee this season on Feb. 24. Three games against Coppin State on Feb. 21-22 will follow the home match-up against the Seminoles and wrap up a seven game home stand to start the season.
