College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2011 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the countdown today at number 36 with Long Beach State RHP Andrew Gagnon. The Northridge, California, native attended Liberty High School in Brentwood where he earned four letters in baseball. Gagnon struggled as the Sunday starter for the Dirtbags as a Freshman in 2009, going just 3-7 on the season, though he showed moments of brilliance that signaled hope for the future. Continue reading

Regular-season MVP Kolten Wong (Hawaii) and home run champion Jordan Ribera (Fresno State) lead the list of stars who were named to the 2010 Cape Cod Baseball League’s All-League team that was announced by commissioner Paul Galop this weekend.
A total of 24 players were selected to the elite team, with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox and the Orleans Firebirds each placing four on the squad. The lone representative from the Cape League champion Cotuit Kettleers is starting pitcher Austin Wood (St. Petersburg), who went 3-0 with a 0.74 ERA this season.
Here are my Top 10 players to watch in tomorrow’s Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star game at Fenway Park. The CCBL All-Star game is considered by many as the premier summer league All-Star game. The league has had 826 players proceed onto MLB careers. In 2009, the CCBL had 217 alums in the Majors while 234 Cape Leaguers were selected in the 2009 MLB Draft. The Cape Cod Baseball League will play the All-Star Game on Wednesday night at 7pm. The coaches have put out their starting lineup for the game and announced the starting pitchers. Austin Wood from St. Petersburg and the Cotuit Kettleers will get the ball for the Western Division while Andrew Gagnon from Long Beach State and the Brewster White caps will get the ball for the Eastern Division. The marquee collegiate summer league all-star game will take place on July 28th from Fenway Park in Boston Massachusetts with the Cape Cod Baseball League All Star Game. The Cape Cod Baseball League recently announced the 2010 All-Star Game rosters which feature some of the best pro prospects for the 2011 MLB Draft. Here is your Cape Cod Baseball League Recap for July 3rd. There was a blowout tonight at the Bourne Braves defeated Falmouth 17-3 as Tennessee’s Steven Gruver gave up 10 runs (five earned) and nine hits in only 2.1 innings. The best night at the plate was by Matt Newman from Arizona State as he went 3-4 with a double for the Orleans Firebirds. Andy Burns from Kentucky also had a solid night for Brewster as he went 2-2 with 3 RBI. There was no real outstanding performances on the mound with Andrew Gagnon from Long Beach State going seven innings, giving up five hits, and one run while striking out 8 as his Brewster Whitecaps defeated Orleans 6-2.
