2014 CBD Top 100 Countdown: 5. Ian Happ (Cincinnati)

Sports LAX, track and field, baseball, staffCollege Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2014 college baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be adding players day-by-day until we get to number one!

Number 5 on our countdown is Cincinnati sophomore outfielder Ian Happ. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native attended Mount Pleasant High School. He was a four-year letter winner where he helped guide the Blue Devils to a top eight finish in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association in 2012. 2014 Top 100 Countdown: 11. Nick Burdi (Louisville)

Number 11 on our countdown is Louisville junior Nick Burdi. The Downers Grove, Illinois native attended Downers Grove South High School. Lelo Prado talks 2014 South Florida Baseball

LouisvilleFeaturedImagePROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Louisville Cardinals enter the season as the unanimous 2014 Preseason American Athletic Conference favorite after advancing to the College World Series for the second time in school history last season. Louisville received eight first-place votes and 64 points in the coaches’ preseason poll. Three teams tied for second place, as UCF, UConn and Houston all received 47 points. 2014 CBD Top 100 Countdown: 45. Kyle Funkhouser (Louisville)

Louisville Baseball HeadshotsWe continue the countdown today with number 45, Louisville RHP Kyle Funkhouser. In his freshman campaign with the Cardinals, Funkhouser quickly became one of the elite pitchers in the Big East. The 6’2” right-hander was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American after going 5-1 with a 2.14 ERA. BREAKING NEWS: Temple Baseball will be Cut at End of 2014 Season

TempleHuddleTemple Baseball is among the seven sports cut by the University as announced on Friday afternoon. This move is stated to help the athletic department save over three million dollars in their 44 million dollar budget. The other sports that have been cut are softball, men’s crew, women’s rowing, men’s gymnastics and men’s indoor/outdoor track & field. Temple Baseball To Play Conference Games at Campbell’s Field

PHILADELPHIA – It is a new era for Temple University Baseball, so it is only fitting that the team will be playing in a new stadium.

Entering its first year as a member of the American Athletic Conference, Temple University today announced it will play all but one of its home conference games at beautiful Campbell’s Field, home of the Camden Riversharks.

UCF releases 2014 Schedule
