Lelo Prado talks 2014 South Florida Baseball

LeloPradoUSFLelo Prado, the head coach of the South Florida Bulls, recently sat down with Eric Lopez of SportsTalkFlorida.com to take a look at his 2014 squad. Prado’s squad is entering the newly formed AAC conference which contains former Big East members and some Conference USA teams. You can listen to the interview below.

LouisvilleFeaturedImagePROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Louisville Cardinals enter the season as the unanimous 2014 Preseason American Athletic Conference favorite after advancing to the College World Series for the second time in school history last season. Louisville received eight first-place votes and 64 points in the coaches’ preseason poll. Three teams tied for second place, as UCF, UConn and Houston all received 47 points. Louisville Baseball HeadshotsWe continue the countdown today with number 45, Louisville RHP Kyle Funkhouser. In his freshman campaign with the Cardinals, Funkhouser quickly became one of the elite pitchers in the Big East. The 6’2” right-hander was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American after going 5-1 with a 2.14 ERA. TempleHuddleTemple Baseball is among the seven sports cut by the University as announced on Friday afternoon. This move is stated to help the athletic department save over three million dollars in their 44 million dollar budget. The other sports that have been cut are softball, men’s crew, women’s rowing, men’s gymnastics and men’s indoor/outdoor track & field. Temple Baseball To Play Conference Games at Campbell’s Field

PHILADELPHIA - It is a new era for Temple University Baseball, so it is only fitting that the team will be playing in a new stadium.

Entering its first year as a member of the American Athletic Conference, Temple University today announced it will play all but one of its home conference games at beautiful Campbell’s Field, home of the Camden Riversharks.

UCF releases 2014 Schedule

AdamDianTempleWe continue the countdown today with number 58, Temple RHP Adam Dian. In his sophomore campaign with the Owls, Dian appeared in 11 games, allowing only 17 hits and six walks. The right-hander pitched 19.1 innings and posted a 2.65 ERA with 19 strikeouts. With potential to play at the next level, Dian has a solid pitchers build standing at 6’4” 225 pounds. Cincinnati releases 2014 Schedule

CincyCINCINNATI – Head Coach Ty Neal and the University of Cincinnati baseball team announced their 2014 season schedule on Monday. The slate will feature 25 home games for the Bearcats as well as six opponents that participated in the 2013 NCAA tournament.

The Bearcats will be playing their first season as part of the new American Athletic Conference. Joining Cincinnati in the American is UCF, Connecticut, Houston, Louisville, Memphis, Rutgers, USF and Temple. Eight of the league’s nine teams will qualify for the American Athletic Conference championship. The tournament will run from May 21-25, 2014 at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla.

“We are excited about the 2014 season” said Coach Neal. “This team has been working hard and we are ready to finally see a different color jersey. We feel very fortunate to join the American Athletic Conference. The structure of the American schedule, combined with our geographic location, allows us to play a very competitive schedule that will prepare us for the postseason.
