Green catcher had his best week and weekend of the season hitting safely in all four games as the Falcons took two of three games from Akron to win the league title after having played Oakland mid-week. In the three-game series at Miami over the weekend, Besl went 10-for-15 with two doubles, four home runs, six RBIs and eight runs scored. He tallied his first multi-homer game of the year Friday (and second of his career) with two round-trippers, while collecting at least three hits and a homer in every game at Miami. Besl tallied two multi-RBI games at Miami and scored at least two runs each game over the weekend. For the week, the senior totaled 27 bases and had an on-base percentage of .583. He had just six homers entering the week, but finished the week with 10 on the year. Besl also extended his hitting streak to a career-long 15 games with at least one hit in all five games this week. The Bobcats took two of three at Miami over the weekend, the third straight year Ohio’s won the series with the RedHawks. Continue reading MAC Players of the Week

Spencer had at least two hits and homered in every games last week as the Falcons won their series wtih Miami and went 3-1 on the week. Spencer was 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and three runs scored in non-league win over Toledo. He was 4-for-4 with two solo home runs and four runs scored in the series opener with Miami. MAC Announces Baseball Players and Pitchers of the Week

Rohan had a career-high five hits and seven RBI in six at-bats and also scored a game-high four runs in the series finale against UNC Greensboro. He hit a two-run home run in the fourth and had his first career grand slam in the seventh. With the two home runs in the game, Rohan is currently tied for fifth in KSU history with 35 home runs. ACC Recap for Feb. 21

Here is your ACC Recap for February 21st. We saw the NC State Wolfpack continue with their early season struggles with another loss to Atlantic 10 member Xavier. UNC, FSU, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Wake Forest, Boston College, Virginia, and Virginia Tech continued with their perfect records.

Here is your ACC recap for Febraury 20th. We saw the North Carolina Tar Heels jump off to a great start to the season with a 13-3 victory over VMI. The ACC had a strong day which saw them win 9 games while dropping only three games.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Garrett Gore and Mark Fleury each drove in three runs as No. 1 North Carolina broke open a tight game with a six-run fifth inning to claim a 13-3 win over VMI Friday at Bryson Field at Boshamer Stadium. All-America right-hander Alex White opened the Tar Heels’ brand-new facility in style with nine strikeouts over five innings to record his 20th career victory. ACC Weekend Preview: Feb. 20th-22nd

I will be covering the ACC in depth this season with weekly previews of the weekend ahead. I believe that the ACC is one of the premier conferences in the country even though no team in the conference has won the national championship since 1955 when Wake Forest grabbed the title. The ACC is expected to be won by the North Carolina Tar Heels who are led by two of the best pitchers in the conference with Alex White and Matt Harvey. macCleveland, Ohio – Defending MAC Regular Season Champion Kent State and Western Michigan have been chosen by the league’s head coaches to win their respective divisions, released today by the league office.
