TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State University and the Seminole baseball team announced their schedule for the 2015 season. The Seminoles will open the year with a three-game home stand against Oakland University (Michigan) inside the friendly confines of Dick Howser Stadium on Mike Martin Field, February 13-15.
Eleven teams on this year’s schedule recorded 30 or more wins a season ago. Ten schools finished no lower than third in their respective league standings and five schools earned a bid to participate in the 2014 NCAA Regional, while four teams finished the season ranked in the top 25. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia baseball head coach Brian O’Connor has announced his program’s schedule for the 2015 season. Coming off a trip to the 2014 College World Series Finals, the Cavaliers open their season Feb. 13 with a three-game series at East Carolina and begin their 34-game home schedule on Feb. 17 against VCU.
The schedule is highlighted by 19 games against teams that played in the 2014 postseason, including a three-game series against ACC newcomer Louisville, which advanced to the College World Series last season. Gregg Doyel of CBSSports.com wrote a fantastic article on Florida State quarterback and pitcher Jameis Winston who was suspended for the Clemson football game on Saturday night for a yelling a vulgar phrase in the middle of campus. Doyel details the way that Winston continues to run the campus and not the administrators which includes how he was superseded for only three games from the baseball team after stealing crab legs from a local supermarket. The American Baseball Coaches Association has announced its five-member ABCA Hall of Fame class of 2015. Denney Crabaugh, Mark Fuller, Fred Hill, Ray Korn and Mike Roberts will be inducted during the Hall of Fame/Coach of the Year Banquet at the ABCA Convention on Jan. 3, 2015 in Orlando, Florida.

Former Miami (FL) pitching coach Lazaro “Lazer” Collazo was charged with supplying steroids to high school aged players in the Biogensis scandal today. He was not arrested due to the fact he is in the hospital after breaking up a fight between two dogs.
The Miami Herald reports that Lazer was charged with supplying steroid concoctions to high school athletes for between $240 and $800 to persuade them to use Anthony Bosch’s clinic. The other people arrested on Tuesday included Bosch, Alex Rodriguez’s cousin and others.
