#12 Clemson 19 Davidson 0

Clemson, SC – Will Lamb had five of the Tigers’ season-high 23 hits in #15 Clemson’s 19-0 victory over Davidson at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Tuesday night. In their last regular-season home game, the Tigers improved to 37-16 on the season. The Wildcats ended their season with an 18-30 record.

The Tigers put on an offensive show, as Clemson tied its season high for runs and tied a school record with a .523 batting average (23-for-44) in the game. It tied Clemson’s performance against Georgia Southern on March 12, 2002, when the Tigers were also 23-for-44 that day. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Will Roberts (Jr., Richmond, Va.) worked into the eighth inning in an outstanding pitching performance, and the No. 1-ranked Virginia baseball team scored four runs in the seventh inning in a 5-4 victory over No. 16 Miami Sunday afternoon in front of a season-high 4,700 fans at Davenport Field. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Tyler Wilson (Sr., Midlothian, Va.) gave up just one hit and struck out 11 over 7.2 innings of dominant work to propel the No. 1-ranked Virginia baseball team to a 3-2 victory over No. 16 Miami Saturday afternoon at Davenport Field. CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Senior right-hander Bryant Gaines threw six innings of two-run ball and No. 9 North Carolina (39-10) scored a pair of runs in the final two innings to post a 4-2 victory over visiting UNC Asheville (15-30) Wednesday night at Boshamer Stadium. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) – Senior Jonathan Griffin’s mammoth grand slam capped off a seven-run seventh in UCF’s wild 14-10 victory at No. 6 Florida State (35-12) Saturday. It was the Knights’ (29-18) third victory against a top-10 team this season (defeated top-five Florida twice), and they now have seven victories over ranked opponents on the year, which are the most since the 2004 roster also produced seven wins. CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Senior right-hander Patrick Johnson struck out a career-high 12 batters during seven shutout innings as No. 12 North Carolina (35-10, 14-8 ACC) downed Maryland (20-30, 5-20 ACC), 5-0, Friday night at Boshamer Stadium. The Tar Heels have won four straight games and stretched its streak of not allowing an earned run to 30 innings in the win.

After waiting an hour due to a rain delay, Patrick Johnson came out dealing Friday night as he allowed just four hits and struck out a dozen en route to earning his eighth win of the year.

Colin Moran had a hand in all five runs for the Tar Heels as he scored a pair of runs and drove in three more with a bases-clearing double in the fourth inning to blow the game open.
