2011 All-ACC Baseball Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Clemson junior shortstop Brad Miller and Virginia junior pitcher Danny Hultzen head up the 2011 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Team, as announced today by Commissioner John Swofford.

Miller was selected the ACC Player of the Year in a vote of the league’s 12 head coaches, while Hultzen was named the ACC Pitcher of the Year for the second consecutive season. Continue reading

Miami’s Grandal, Virginia’s Hultzen Lead 2010 All-ACC Baseball Team

DannyHultzenUVA GREESNBORO, N.C. – Miami junior catcher Yasmani Grandal has been named the 2010 Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Year in a vote of the league’s 12 head coaches, while Virginia sophomore Danny Hultzen has received the nod as Pitcher of the Year.

The two standouts headline the 2010 All-ACC Baseball Team announced today by commissioner John D. Swofford. Duke pitcher/infielder Marcus Stroman was voted the Freshman of the Year, while Virginia’s Brian O’Connor received Coach of the Year honors.

2008 All-ACC team and Awards

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Miami, the top seed in this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Championship, led all schools with eight selections on the 2008 All-ACC Baseball Team and also claimed a pair of individual superlatives, as announced today by Commissioner John Swofford. All-ACC Teams named

The ACC has named the All-Conference teams, Coach of the Year, Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and Freshman of the Year. The conference named Tony Thomas Jr. of FSU as the Player of the Year as he led the Seminoles with a .439 average. Dustin Ackley (UNC) picked up the Freshman of the Year award as he led the conference in hitting .443. He also is tied with Tony Thomas Jr. for the national lead in hits with 101. Bryan Henry (FSU) was named the Pitcher of the Year with a 14-0 and a 2.50 ERA. Mike Marting Jr. picked up the Coach of the Year award by leading his Seminoles to the top seed in the ACC Tournament and probably a Regional host in the NCAA Tournament.
