The ACC has released their Players of the Week for the week ending on March 18th. Dustin Ackley of UNC picked up the Player of the Week with a batting average of .667 (14-21) in the five games last week. He had a stretch of making base in 12 consecutive plate appearances. David Duncan of Georgia Tech got the Pitcher of the Week award for throwing a complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts to lead the Yellow Jackets to the 10-0 victory.
Tony Thomas Jr of Florida State was named Player of the Week in the ACC for the week ending on March 5th while Duke’s Micheal Ness was named Pitcher of the Week. Tony Thomas Jr. led the Seminoles to a 4-0 record by hitting .611 (11-18) for the week. Ness picked up two victories this week with a start against North Carolina A & T and a relief appearance win against Holy Cross on Saturday.
The ACC has named Mark Sobolewski of Miami the Player of the Week and Andrew Brackman the Pitcher of the week for February 26th. Mark went .571 at the plate to lead the Hurricanes to a series victory over the Phoenix of Elon. Andrew Brackman was spectacular in his start this weekend against Coastal Carolina when he pitched 7.1 shutout innings and picking the victory in a 4-0 victory over previously undefeated Coastal Carolina. Miami will face the Florida Marlins on Tuesday while NC State will host UNC-Wilmington also on Tuesday.
