The American Baseball Coaches Association has announced its five-member ABCA Hall of Fame class of 2015. Denney Crabaugh, Mark Fuller, Fred Hill, Ray Korn and Mike Roberts will be inducted during the Hall of Fame/Coach of the Year Banquet at the ABCA Convention on Jan. 3, 2015 in Orlando, Florida.
Induction to the ABCA Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed by the organization. The ABCA was founded in 1945 and the Hall of Fame began in 1966. Continue reading →

Now in his fourth season as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the baseball program, Holbrook serves as hitting instructor, oversees the Gamecock offense, including base running and the short game, and is the third base coach. FROM CBD NEWS SOURCE Vanderbilt Associate Head Coach/Pitching Coach Derek Johnson has been named the ABCA/Baseball America Assistant Coach of the Year.
The honor comes on the heels of one of the Commodores most successful seasons in school history. Vanderbilt was one win away from their first trip to the College World Series and appeared in the school’s second-ever Super Regional, eventually losing to Florida State. The team’s pitchers helped guide the Dores to 46 wins, second-most in school history, while posting the second-best team ERA (3.69) in the rugged Southeastern Conference. Continue reading →
MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – Former University of Connecticut baseball head coach Andy Baylock has been selected as the 2011 recipient of the ABCA/Wilson Lefty Gomez Award as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
The ABCA/Wilson Lefty Gomez award is the highest honor given out by the ABCA. Baylock will be presented the award on January 7, 2011, during the ABCA Convention in Nashville, Tenn.
Boston Globe correspondent John Vellante recently wrote a fantastic article on former UMass-Lowell manager Jim Stone who won over 800 games in his 37 year career. He had 11 NCAA Northeast Regional Appearances, two Division 2 College World Series Appearances and was named NEIBA Coach of the Year seven times while being named ABCA Northeast Region Coach of the Year on five occasions. He told Vellante that his biggest accomplishment was sending over 50 players onto professional baseball whether the minor leagues or independent ball. He is set to be inducted into the ABCA Hall of Fame tonight.

Among the First Team honorees are six players participating in this year’s College World Series including Arizona State starting pitcher Mike Leake, LSU starting pitcher Louis Coleman, Arizona State catcher Carlos Ramirez, UNC first baseman Dustin Ackley, ASU outfielder Jason Kipnis and Virginia utility player Danny Hultzen.
