2013 America East Preseason Coaches Poll

AmericaEastLogoCAMBRIDGE, Mass.— After a historic run to the College World Series, reigning America East champion and back-to-back regular-season title holder Stony Brook University was picked first in the 2013 America East Preseason Coaches’ poll as determined by a vote by the league’s six head coaches who were not allowed the vote for their own teams. 2013 WAC Preseason Coaches Poll

WACLogoDENVER - Dallas Baptist has been selected as the favorite to win the 2013 Western Athletic Conference regular season baseball crown in a vote by the league’s 10 head coaches.

The Patriots received 80 points and eight first place votes after a 41-19 season last year as an independent. DBU advanced to its second-straight NCAA Tournament last season. DBU joins the WAC this season after playing as a Division I independent the past nine seasons. As an independent, the Patriots have made three trips to the NCAA tournament, including an NCAA Super Regional appearance in 2011. Continue reading

The two teams previously tied in the 2011 poll. The Eagles and Bears both compiled 81 points in the poll with Mercer earning three first-place votes and FGCU receiving two first-place nods. 2013 MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll

MAACLOGOEdison, N.J. - Manhattan College has been chosen as the favorite to win the 2013 MAAC Baseball title, according to a preseason poll voted on by the league’s nine head coaches.

A close vote had Manhattan top the poll with 74 points followed by Canisius College with 72. Rider University was picked third with 59 points, while Marist College was fourth with 57. Fairfield University finished with 48 points, followed by Siena College (31), Niagara University (29), Saint Peter’s University (18), and Iona College (17). Continue reading

2013 Big West Conference Preseason Poll

BigWest_thumb.gifCal State Fullerton was selected to successfully defend its Big West Conference title this season, according to the ten conference coaches that voted on the 2013 Big West Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll. The Titans earned nine first-place votes en route to a total of 99 points and was followed by UC Irvine, who collected the remaining first place vote and posted an overall 82 point total. Rounding out the top three after securing 75 points was Long Beach State. Continue reading

Rice senior infielder Christian Stringer was chosen as the preseason Player of the Year, while Owls junior right-hander Austin Kubitza was named the preseason Pitcher of the Year. CAA LogoRICHMOND, Va. (January 23, 2013) – UNCW, which captured its third CAA baseball championship in the past nine years last season, has been picked to win the conference title again in 2013 according to a vote of the league’s head baseball coaches.

The Seahawks received five first-place votes and finished atop the poll with 75 points. Hofstra picked up three first-place votes and was second with 69 points. James Madison was chosen third with 62 points and Delaware got two first-place votes and was fourth with 57 points. George Mason placed fifth in the voting, followed by Old Dominion, William & Mary, Towson, Northeastern and Georgia State. Continue reading
