2013 Patriot League Preseason Coaches Poll

PatriotLeagueLogo.jpgCENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Army baseball team was picked first in the Patriot League preseason poll which was released on Wednesday. The Black Knights earned five first-place votes and finished tied with Holy Cross atop the preseason listing, which was compiled by a vote of the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.

Army and Holy Cross, whom Army defeated in three games to claim the 2012 Patriot League tournament championship, both accumulated 45 points to tie for first in the preseason poll. The Crusaders collected six first-place votes. Continue reading 2013 Patriot League Preseason Coaches Poll

2013 Big 12 Preseason Coaches Poll

OklahomaOmaha.jpgOklahoma has been selected as the preseason favorite to win the 2013 Big 12 baseball regular season. In a vote by the league’s head coaches, the Sooners earned six first-place votes, totaling 62 points. League newcomer TCU tallied the remaining three first-place votes and 55 points for the second place spot.
This marks the second time the Sooners have been tabbed to win the Conference’s regular season title. In 2011, OU also received six first-place votes. 2013 SEC Preseason Coaches Poll

SEC Circle Gold Letters on White BackgroundThe Arkansas Razorbacks are predicted to win the 2013 Southeastern Conference baseball championship, as voted by the league’s 14 baseball coaches in the 22nd annual preseason SEC poll.

The Razorbacks, ranked No. 1 nationally in the preseason USA Today Coaches’ Poll, seek to capture their third SEC Championship and first since 2004. 2013 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Coaches Poll and Teams

sunbelt_thumb.jpgNEW ORLEANS – The Florida Atlantic Owls have been tabbed as the preseason favorites to win the 2013 Sun Belt Conference baseball title, the league announced on Monday.

FAU won the SBC regular season title in 2012 behind a 32-22 overall record and a 19-8 record in SBC play. This season, the Owls return six starters from that squad and four starting pitchers, including 2013 All-SBC Preseason selections pitcher Austin Gomber and first baseman Mark Nelson. 2013 Pac 12 Coaches Poll

Pac12LogoWALNUT CREEK, Calif. — In a polling of the Pac-12’s baseball coaches, STANFORD has been selected as the preseason favorite to win the conference title this season. The Cardinal received five of 10 possible first-place votes and 93 points. Stanford finished the 2012 campaign with a 41-18 record and advanced to NCAA Super Regional play in the postseason. The Cardinal, led by preseason All-Americans Mark Appel, Brian Ragira and Austin Wilson, enters the season as a consensus top-10 team in the national rankings. 2013 Mountain West Preseason Coaches Poll

MountainWestConference_thumb.jpgCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Defending Mountain West champion New Mexico has been predicted to win its second consecutive regular season MW baseball title in 2013, according to a vote of the six MW head coaches. The Lobos received five first-place votes and 35 points overall. San Diego State received the remaining first-place vote and 26 points to edge out MW newcomers Nevada (23 points) and Fresno State (22 points) for second place. 2013 Ohio Valley Preseason Coaches Poll

OhioValleyConferenceBRENTWOOD, Tenn. — After winning the Ohio Valley Conference regular season and tournament championships each of the past two years, Austin Peay has been tabbed the 2013 preseason favorite for the 11-team league in a vote of OVC head baseball coaches and sports information directors. In additional voting APSU junior second baseman Jordan Hankins and Tennessee Tech junior first baseman Zach Stephens were named OVC Preseason Co-Players of the Year while Belmont senior lefty Chase Brookshire was tabbed OVC Preseason Pitcher of the Year. 2013 Summit League Preseason Coaches Poll

NDSUBaseballELMHURST, Ill. – North Dakota State was favored to capture its first Summit League Baseball Tournament title in a preseason vote among the league’s six head coaches. The Bison received five first-place votes and a total of 25 points.

South Dakota State placed second with 17 points, followed closely by Oakland who received the final first-place vote and 16 points. The Golden Grizzlies received the final first-place vote. 2013 Southern Conference Preseason Coaches and Media Polls

SoConLogoSPARTANBURG, S.C. – Elon is the preseason selection to win the Southern Conference in balloting of the league’s 11 head coaches, while the league’s media have picked College of Charleston to win the conference, the SoCon announced Thursday.

The Phoenix claimed five first-place votes and 93 total points in the coaches’ poll, in which coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams. Elon finished 20-10 in SoCon play last season, a game out of first place. The Phoenix return four Preseason All-SoCon selections this year in first-team starting pitcher Dylan Clark, catcher Alex Swim and first baseman Ryan Kinsella and second-team relief pitcher Nate Young. 2013 West Coast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll

WestCoastConference_thumb.jpgSAN BRUNO, Calif. – The University of San Diego has been selected to win the 2013 West Coast Conference baseball championship, in a preseason poll of the WCC’s nine head coaches. The Toreros earned six of eight possible first-place votes and 62 overall points in the poll.
