CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — North Carolina scored three times in the bottom of the sixth and held on for a 5-4 win in the third and deciding game of the Super Regionals at Boshamer Stadium Tuesday afternoon. With the win, the Tar Heels (57-10) advance to the College World Series and will take on NC State in the 3 p.m. ET game on Sunday, June 16 in Omaha, Neb. OMAHA—The game times and pairings for the first two days of the Men’s College World Series have been announced. The 67th MCWS will take place at the TD Ameritrade Park Omaha in Omaha from June 15-25/26.
The first game on Saturday is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. (CT), No. 3 national seed Oregon State (49-11)/Kansas State (45-18) Super Regional winner against Mississippi State (48-18). RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State advanced to its first College World Series since 1968 by winning the longest super regional game in history, 5-4, in 17 innings over Rice on Sunday at Doak Field at Dail Park.
The Wolfpack (49-14) tied the school record for most wins in a season, but they had to do it with a riveting three-run ninth to force extra innings. Rice (44-20) took a 1-0 lead with a solo homer in the bottom of the first, and extended it to 2-0 with another in the sixth. BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University Baseball (48-14) is headed to the College World Series after completing a Super Regionals sweep over #7-seed Florida State (47-17). The Hoosiers topped FSU , 11-6, to become the first Big Ten school advancing to Omaha since 1984 (Michigan).
Freshman Will Coursen-Carr (5-0) earned the win on the mound, just as he did in the clinching victories of the Big Ten Tournament and NCAA Regional in his last two starts. FULLERTON, Calif. — When there’s a trip to the College World Series on the line, sometime all it takes is one strong inning. UCLA scored three runs in the first inning and rode it all the way to Omaha as the Bruins defeated Cal State Fullerton 3-0 Saturday night at Goodwin Field to take the Fullerton (CA) Super Regional.
