Baseball America releases 2011-2012 Recruiting Class Rankings

Baseball America has released their 2011-2012 Recruiting Class rankings for the class that will be eligible for the start of the 2012 season. Leading the pack is the Vanderbilt Commodores which got a first round pick in Tyler Beede among other talented players to Nashville. The rest of the top five is filled out by Texas, Southern Miss, NC State, and Ole Miss.

The Sky is the Limit for Bubba Starling

Bubba Starling is considered the best high school player in the country according to Baseball America. There is a problem though as Bubba has committed to the University of Nebraska where he is expected to be compete for the starting quarterback position in the fall of 2011. Football people him the next Tim Tebow while baseball people say he could be the next Josh Hamilton.

Rivera visits Quinnipiac

Mariano Rivera Jr. was on the Quinnipiac campus on Wednesday afternoon with his father and NY Yankees closer Mariano Rivera to take of the tour of the Hamden CT school. Rivera Jr. is a right-handed pitcher out Iona Prep in New York. The 5’10 155 pounder played this past summer in the Bayside Yankees AAU program and contacted the Quinnipiac program on. K.J. Hockaday commits to Maryland

Maryland_logo Varsity Letters, a high school sports blog for the Baltimore Sun, reports that junior K.J. Hockaday has committed to Maryland to play under first year head coach Erik Bakich. Hockaday is a highly touted recruit out of John Carroll still has two seasons to go at the school. His high school coach is quoted in the article that he doesn’t believe that Hockaday will make it to College Park as he should be drafted after his senior campaign.
