Cleveland, Ohio – Defending MAC Regular Season and Tournament Champion Kent State and defending MAC West Division Champion Central Michigan have been chosen by the league’s head coaches to win their respective divisions, released today by the league office. 2012 Patriot League Preseason Coaching Poll Released

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Patriot League released the preseason baseball poll on Wednesday with both Navy and Bucknell tied at the top. Both teams were picked first with 39 points, while Navy received more first-place votes (five) than Bucknell (four). Army was picked just behind Navy and Bucknell with 38 points and one first-place vote, while Holy Cross took the fourth spot with 29 points and two first-place votes. 2012 Pac-12 Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — In a polling of the Pac-12’s baseball coaches, STANFORD has been selected as the preseason favorite to win the conference title this season. The Cardinal received all 10 possible first-place votes and 100 points. Stanford finished the 2011 campaign with a 35-22 record after progressing to NCAA Super Regional play in the postseason. Stanford is ranked in the top five in the preseason polls, including a No. 2 ranking in Baseball America’s preseason top 25 poll. 2012 Big Ten Preseason Coaches Poll

PARK RIDGE, Ill. – After winning a share of the Big Ten title for the first time since 1979, Michigan State has been selected by the conference coaches as the favorite to win in 2012, the Big Ten office announced on Tuesday. The conference’s baseball coaches voted on the top six teams and also selected three players from their own squads to a Players to Watch list. Texas A&M has been unanimously selected as the preseason favorite to win the 2012 Big 12 baseball regular season title. In a vote by the league’s head coaches, the Aggies earned eight first place votes, totaling 64 points. In 2011, TAMU made its fifth College World Series appearance, claimed its second-straight Big 12 postseason crown and earned a share of the regular season title. COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Six-time defending Mountain West champion TCU is the unanimous favorite to win its seventh consecutive regular season MW baseball title in 2012, according to a vote of the five MW head coaches. The Horned Frogs received all five first-place votes and 25 points overall. UNLV edged out New Mexico for second place with 16 points, while the Lobos picked up 15 points in third place. 2012 West Coast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — The University of San Diego has been selected to win the 2012 West Coast Conference baseball championship in a preseason poll of the WCC’s nine head coaches. The Toreros earned five first-place votes and 59 overall points in the poll. 2012 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Coaches Poll

NEW ORLEANS – The Panthers of FIU and the Trojans of Troy have been tabbed as the preseason favorites to win the 2012 Sun Belt Conference baseball title in a vote of the league’s head coaches.
FIU, which finished second overall in the standings in 2011, returns five starters to an offense that led the SBC in batting average, home runs and runs scored.
