NECBL All-Stars defeat Team USA 3-2

BOSTON – Seven pitchers limited the NECBL All-Stars to three runs and four hits, but the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team managed three hits of its own in a 3-2 loss Monday afternoon at Fenway Park.

Team USA scored a run in the seventh off three NECBL errors, but stranded a runner at third to end the inning. It was the club’s last true rally, and allowed the NECBL All-Stars to pull out the one-run victory. Continue reading


USA Collegiate National Team defeats North Shore 4-1

LYNN, Mass. – Chris Elder (Oral Roberts) picked up two hits and Eric Anderson (Missouri) scattered three over five innings as the USA Baseball National Team defeated North Shore, 4-1, Sunday night at Fraser Field.

Elder went 2-for-3 in the win, singling in the fourth and singling again in the sixth during Team USA’s three-run inning. A shot to right, it drove in Josh Elander (Texas Christian) from third and gave the team a 2-0 lead. Continue reading


USA Baseball Sweeps Doubleheader on Friday

RINDGE, N.H. – Brady Rodgers (Arizona State) scattered three hits over six innings and the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team opened its slate with a 7-0 victory over Keene Friday morning at Martha Pappas Field.

“I think then most impressive thing for me is how this team performed after getting rained out yesterday,” said Manager Tim Jamieson (Missouri). They came together as a team and played very well. This is one down.”

Rodgers allowed consecutive no-out singles in the second inning, but settled down to retire the next seven batters before allowing a one-out single in the fourth. However, he induced the next batter into a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning. Continue reading


USA Baseball announces 2011 Collegiate National Team Coaching Staff

DURHAM, N.C. — USA Baseball announced the four members of the 2011 Collegiate National Team coaching staff on Thursday. Missouri‚Äôs Tim Jamieson will manage the club next summer, and he will be joined by pitching coach Rob Walton (Oral Roberts) and assistant coaches Dave Van Horn (Arkansas) and Scott Stricklin (Kent State).
