Junior shortstop Brandon Wikoff ripped a one-out double down the right-field line to drive in a pair of runs and scored on an error as the Blue squad used a three-run final inning to take a 3-2 win over the Orange and even the Orange and Blue World Series at one game apiece. The Blue squad won despite managing just five hits during the five-inning game.

Reeser Earns Win with 4 Strong Innings; Johnson Drives in Pair

The Orange squad topped the Blue, 3-2, in five innings, in the opener of the annual Orange and Blue World Series, thanks to four strong innings of work by starter Ben Reeser and a scoreless inning by Mike Sterk, who earned the save. Catcher Aaron Johnson drove in two runs and all three tallies came from the Nos. 1-3 hitters, Josh Parr, Joe Bonadonna and Dominic Altobelli.

Louisiana Tech Bulldog Baseball Sets Fall Schedule

For the first time in the Wade Simoneaux era at Louisiana Tech, the Bulldog baseball team will play four fall games against outside competition.

Simoneaux announced Monday that Louisiana Tech would play LSU-Shreveport Oct. 3, Panola Junior College Oct. 9, Grambling State Oct. 16 and Bossier Parish Community College Oct. 18.

Old Dominion’ Buss Homer Lifts Monarchs Past Alumni, 5-0

Junior infielder Chris Buss slammed a three-run homer, and ODU pitchers held the Alumni to just three hits in the 5-0 victory for the Varsity Saturday afternoon. Over 38 former Monarch players and managers were on hand for the weekend festivities which included a golf outing and the alumni game.
