The Victoria Generals won the 2010 Texas Collegiate League Championship on Saturday night by beating the East Texas Pump Jacks 10-2 in Game 2 of the best-of-three championship series. The Generals won Game 1 on Friday night in Kilgore 6-5 before returning home for the win on their home field, Riverside Stadium in Victoria, to seal the championship on Saturday night.

The Victoria Generals seemed to be on their way to a loss in Game 1 of the 2010 TCL Championship Series on Friday night in Kilgore as they trailed 5-0 to the East Texas Pump Jacks heading into the eighth inning.
Comeback Jacks Stay Alive, Force Decisive Game Three
The East Texas Pump Jacks’ season was down to its last strike. Bottom of the ninth inning, two outs, two strikes. Facing a one-run deficit, Lee Orr stood tantalizingly close at third base, a mere ninety feet from extending the game.

Bryan-College Station, TX (August 10, 2010) – The Brazos Valley Bombers came from behind twice to defeat the East Texas Pump Jacks 7-5 Tuesday night. The win on Derby Dash Night presented by Montelongo’s Fine Jewelry gives the Bombers a 1-0 lead in the best of three series against the Pump Jacks.

The race for the league’s best record came down to the final night of the season, with the Victoria Generals edging the East Texas Pump Jacks by virtue of head-to-head record.
The Texas Tomcats defeated the North Texas Copperheads 9-6 on Tuesday evening at Veterans Memorial Park in Weimar. The Tomcats scored single runs in the first three innings to take an early 3-0 lead. Kevin Mihalik hit a solo home run in the first, Relly Mercurio had an RBI single in the second, and Eric Garcia had a sacrifice fly in the third.
